TFE Hotels is writing its name into the history books of Melbourne’s 172-year-old Pentridge Prison with the opening this week of a world-first urban wellness retreat on the site. The boutique offering, known as The Interlude, features 19 suites created by converting and connecting old prison cells from the former B Division, which was once home to infamous inmates such as bushranger Ned Kelly and the ‘After Dark bandit’, Doug Morgan.

Radisson Hotel Group is expanding its presence in the Fijian market with the signing of a Radisson Blu hotel on Naisoso Island, the group’s second hotel in Fiji. Hyatt Hotels Corporation has revealed that Calistoga Motor Lodge and Spa, a retro-inspired property with 97 guestrooms and suites, has joined the JdV by Hyatt portfolio. Located at the head of the Silverado Trail in California’s wine country, the property is the first Independent Collection hotel in Napa Valley. Inspired by California’s wine region with design by New York-based design firm AvroKo, the property is a new take on the classic roadside motel experience, according to Hyatt.

Luxury five-star hotel Sofitel Adelaide has been purchased by global fund manager Salter Brothers for AU$154 million – a record price for a single asset hotel deal in the South Australian city. The luxury hotel on Currie Street, which opened in 2021, is managed by Accor and consists of 251 guestrooms and suites, Garcon Bleu restaurant, two bars, as well as extensive leisure facilities and meeting spaces.
