Sydney’s Martin Place will be home to the latest The Sebel hotel in Australia with the opening of an 86-room premium hotel in January. The Sebel Sydney Martin Place is the first hotel from the brand within Sydney’s financial district and replaces Mercure Sydney Martin Place, which opened in October last year following the acquisition of an existing Travelodge hotel by global fund manager Salter Brothers.

Australia’s first 25hours hotel has been given a revised opening date of December 2024 following construction delays at the Sydney site, with new renders of guest rooms released. The new 109-room hotel, developed by leading Sydney property developer Central Element (CE) and joint venture partner Boston Global Group, is located at 1-11 Oxford Street Paddington, the heritage listed site of the former West Olympia Theatre.

Jetstar is set to double the carrier’s Business Class cabin as part of a multi-million-dollar upgrade of its existing Boeing 787 Dreamliner fleet. The upgrade includes overhauling the economy and business class cabins with new seating, inflight connectivity and lie-flat crew rest areas to fly greater distances. The business class offering will also more than double in response to growing premium demand, increasing from 21 seats to 44.
