By Mike Putman The travel industry has become an expert in customer profiling, and for years hotel chains have used loyalty programs to retain frequent travelers. A recent survey revealed that the global loyalty management market in travel is projected to reach $59.52 billion by 2029, driven by the shift to digital platforms and mobile apps, which are transforming how loyalty programs operate.
Asia Pacific is experiencing a surge in tourism, and technology is at the heart of making the most of this opportunity. By embracing technology, hoteliers can turn one‑off visitors into loyal, repeat guests that boost revenue. With Asia Pacific tourism forecast to surge to 813.7 million visitors by 2027 , the region is set to become a hub for global travel.
Although the ADR for a U.S. hotel room climbed to a record high of $158.67 in 2024, hotel guests in every segment from economy to luxury feel they are getting better value for their travel dollar. According to the J.D. Power 2025 North America Hotel Guest Satisfaction Index (NAGSI) Study , key drivers of that improved perception of value are higher satisfaction with guestrooms, including condition, cleanliness and room amenities such as in-room smart TVs.
Marriott International has signed an agreement with Ventive Hospitality to open seven hotels, as part of a portfolio deal comprising 1,548-keys across five brands. This includes multiple brand debuts with a Ritz-Carlton Reserve in Sri Lanka, Marriott Hotels & Resorts in Varanasi, Courtyard by Marriott in Mundra (Gujarat) and Moxy in Pune. Additionally, it will mark the third JW Marriott and second Moxy to open as part of a dual-branded property in Mumbai.
