TFE Hotels has put their stamp in Docklands… quite literally… with the rebranding of the 273-room Vibe Hotel Melbourne Docklands, which officially welcomed its first guests, Aucklanders Lindy Catchpole and Roberta Donjeany yesterday afternoon.

Frequent flyer, Roberta Donjeany, said she'd stayed at Vibe Darling Harbour and Vibe Sydney before and loved it. "Vibe Hotels are always in great locations and there's always something going on the area," she said. "I can see Vibe Melbourne Docklands fitting very nicely with the brand."

Roberta's travelling companion, Lindy Catchpole, agreed. "I love shopping at The District Docklands and the tram is very accessible for travel into the CBD and back, so we're looking forward to the stay."

Hotel General Manager, Nigel Maxey, joined TFE Hotels' Group Chief Operating Officer, Chris Sedgwick; Senior Director of Operations ANZ, Tish Nyar; and Regional General Manager VIC, Stephen Moore, in celebrating the opening of the harbourside property - the twelfth of the Vibe brand and the second in Melbourne City.

"Last year was a milestone year as our homegrown Vibe Hotels brand completed a lap of the Aussie map with the opening of our design-focused Vibe Hotel Adelaide," Sedgwick said. "This year, the brand will continue to go from strength to strength as we welcome Vibe Hotel Melbourne Docklands into the fold, prepare to announce new pipeline hotels, and celebrate our 21st year of operations."

The innovations don't stop there, with sister property, Vibe Hotel Melbourne, launching a rooftop venue - conceptualized by Melbourne interior designer Paul Kelly - on April 12, making this, as Sedgwick says, "a brand to watch!"

The addition of the Vibe Melbourne Docklands - formerly the Four Points by Sheraton - gives TFE and owners, MA Financial Group, a strong upscale offering in the revitalised precinct and will help MA Financial seed the launch of the MA Accommodation Hotel Fund, an open-ended fund for wholesale investors targeting high quality assets.

Located close to Marvel Stadium and boasting harbourside and CBD views, and easy access to public transport, Vibe Melbourne Docklands is just minutes from Melbourne's famous dining scene, with Storehouse Dockland's in-house farm-to-table fare proving a welcome addition to the precinct's eateries.

TFE's Global Sales Officer, Shahnaz Bakhshay, said she had no doubt Vibe Melbourne Docklands would hold wide appeal across all market segments thanks to its accessible location; abundance of Deluxe Queen-Queen room stock and its versatility in the MICE space.

"Docklands, as a precinct, brings together the best of Melbourne's dining, conferencing, events, and accommodation in one buzzing spot and makes Vibe Docklands an attractive proposition for our leisure, conference and special event guests," she said. "We have no doubt the Deluxe Queen-Queen rooms will be very popular with families."

"We're also excited to add an additional seven meeting rooms - including the Sky Room with its skyline views - to the Melbourne portfolio, along with a private bar and two outdoor terraces," she said. "Whilst wellness facilities like the heated rooftop lap pool, 24-hour fitness centre, pool, spa and steam room are perfect for sporting groups and that all-important post-game recovery."
