Hotelschool The Hague is proud to announce the appointment of Rogier Busser as Dean and member of the Board of Directors, effective 1 October 2023. As Dean, he will be responsible for education and research. His appointment marks a great start of the new academic year.

We trust that Rogier’s profound expertise and knowledge will greatly contribute to the success of our students, educational excellence, and research programmes of Hotelschool The Hague. Mr Busser has over 20 years of experience in various academic management positions at research universities and universities of applied sciences. He is currently Dean of the Amsterdam School of International Business (AMSIB) at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (HvA). He is also visiting professor at Thammasat University Bangkok, Thailand, and research fellow at Leiden University. He brings extensive leadership experience and is passionate about business, economics, and culture.

Busser has studied Economics and Asian studies in Leiden and Kyoto, Japan. He has been a lecturer and researcher at Leiden University. Apart from that, he has also been in several administrative positions such as director of international relations (Faculty of Humanities, Leiden), managing director of the Leiden University College in The Hague, and programme director for International Business Studies at the Hague University of Applied Sciences (THUAS).

By sharing my experiences in higher education and research with the learning community at the Hotelschool The Hague, I aim to contribute to the further growth of this prestigious institution. ROGIER BUSSER
