Located on the shores of Finger Lake, 198 miles northwest of Anchorage, Eleven Winterlake Lodge sits on one million acres of heli-accessible wilderness, offering panoramic views of the highest peak in North America, Mount Denali. Set between the Alaska Range and Tordrillo Mountains, this exquisite and untouched corner of Alaska offers unrivalled access to this off-the-beaten track destination. With just six lakeside cabins, this lodge is accessible only by float plane in the summer and ski-plane in the winter, making it the ultimate destination for a completely secluded hinterland experience. Experts in off-grid adventure, Eleven guides will offer guests bespoke, once-in-a-lifetime adventures. From trekking across magnificent glaciers to hiking through treeless tundra, rafting down hair-raising rapids and fishing for all five species of Pacific Salmon, returning to wood-burning fireplaces each evening. Thanks to the decision of the previous owners, the Dixon Family, prohibiting all hunting operations in the 1990s, there are opportunities aplenty to spot the unique and native wildlife that call this corner of the world home. From grizzly bears to wolves, moose, caribou and Dall sheep, it's a thrilling destination for wildlife lovers.
In the summer, exploring this wild region of Alaska by heli is the ultimate way to understand the scale and awe-inspiring beauty of the destination. These ultra bespoke and personalised heli-excursions will enable visitors to see previously unreachable natural wonders, including magnificent waterfalls, untouched mountaintops and majestic glacier walls.
Come winter, it becomes a mecca for skiing, with Eleven Winterlake Lodge launching the latest addition to Eleven's iconic heli-skiing offering. New for the 2024 season, the wilds of Alaska will deliver iconic backcountry skiing defined by expansive heli-access, expert guides and access to the infamous and formidable Tordrillo Mountains in the Alaska Range. Offering the ultimate sense of freedom, guests will ski untouched pristine slopes and endless powder runs.
STAY AT A LEGENDARY, HISTORIC LODGE SET AMIDST THE TORDRILLO MOUNTAINS
Built by the Branham brothers as a hunting lodge in the 1930s, Winterlake Lodge was taken on by the Dixon Family in 1994, who extended the property with an additional six cabins, bar, wellness suite and kitchen. Today, Eleven Winterlake Lodge is the twelfth lodge to join the Eleven family of global collection of off-the-grid lodges, from Iceland to Patagonia, France, The Bahamas, and Colorado.
Eleven Winterlake Lodge comprises six cabins, one of which is the original log cabin, home to three bedrooms and bathrooms, whilst the other lodges consist of one or two cosy bedrooms, capturing the essence of the quintessential mountain cabin life. Meals take place in the main lodge, where guests will enjoy delicious and authentic menus, with dishes ranging from local reindeer sausage, wild salmon, and king crab paired with fine wines and Alaskan ales.
Welcoming guests for the summer season, from 1st June through to late September, the authentic lakeside cabins will then soon be enhanced to reflect Eleven's distinct style and elevated comforts.
