Ohana Real Estate Investors names Franco Famularo president

Ohana Real Estate Investors, a vertically integrated real estate investment firm, has promoted Franco Famularo to president. He served as chief investment officer prior to this promotion and will continue in this role in addition to his expanded oversight of the firm’s investment management business.

He joined Ohana in 2015 as the first dedicated investment professional and has helped build the investment management business from the ground up over the past nine years. Under his strategic leadership, the firm has launched five equity and credit fund vehicles, navigated through the global pandemic and experienced significant growth, culminating in an excess of $3 billion in assets under management.

“As we embark on our next stage of growth and expansion, Franco will take significant responsibility for leading those efforts,” said G. Christopher Smith, founder/CEO, Ohana Real Estate Investors. “Franco’s investment acumen and leadership skills have enabled much of our success. He embodies our core values every day and the entire organization is better because of him.”

Famularo added, “I’m honored to take on the role of president at Ohana and look forward to building upon the strong foundation we’ve created as a firm over the past several years. It’s an exciting and dynamic time at Ohana and our organization is well positioned for continued growth.”

Prior to joining the company, he was a principal at Blackstone in New York, where he focused on opportunistic and distressed investing across multiple property types. He also served as an advisor to Starrett Companies, a residential and commercial real estate investment platform that was a Blackstone portfolio company.
