US: Hotel development and management company Lark Hotels has added four hotels along the southern coast of North Carolina to its Lark Independent portfolio.

Lark Independent launched in 2020 to offer boutique hotel owners a management platform covering operations, F&B, finance, marketing, interior design, real estate development, and more.

The 21-room Beach House, the newly remodelled Starlite Inn, retro motel The Admiral’s Quarters and the family-owned Sand Dunes are the latest properties to join Lark Independent. All four are owned by Erik Hemingway.

With the new additions, it brings the Lark Independent collection to 18 hotels across the US.

Rob Blood, founder of Lark Hotels, said: “We’ve built the Lark brand on perfecting vacation travel for our hotel guests, from Cape Cod and Maine to Nantucket and Stowe. As we continue to grow the Lark Independent portfolio, our team seeks out destinations poised to offer unrivalled experiences for all types of travellers.

“Much like the beach towns and mountains of the north-east, we were instantly drawn to North Carolina’s natural serenity, contemporary urban settings and adventurous Blue Ridge Mountain towns. North Carolina is an ideal destination, and we look forward to working with our hotel partners there to bring the Lark spirit to life for their loyal guests and future travellers,” he added.

Elsewhere in the south-east region, Lark has added other hotels to its independent portfolio including Asheville River Cabins, The Radical and Zelda Dearest. The first Lark branded guest house in the south, Blind Tiger Asheville, is set to open this summer.
