Norway: Art deco hotel Sommerro located in Oslo has appointed several key members to its executive team.
The owner of Sommerro and head of the team, Petter Stordalen, is the founder of Nordic Choice Hotels, now known as Strawberry. Over the past 25 years he has grown the company to acquire more than 200 hotels and employ 17,000 staff members inn the Nordic and Baltic countries. Sommerro opened in September earlier this year.
Jarle Moen, managing director at Sommerro, is responsible for developing and executing strategies across branding, sales, marketing, and finance. He brings 25 years of managerial experience to the role and has worked with international hotel brands including Scandic and Radisson Hotel Group.
Siri Løining is the director of brand at Sommerro and has worked closely with the hotel’s architects and interior designers on the logistics, structure, and content for each area of the project. She will work directly with the executive team to create new products and services that represent the Sommerro brand identity.
Helene Skjenneberg, director of operations, has helped create the nine benchmarks that guide all daily operations, known as the ‘Sommerro Standards’. Skjenneberg has also implemented an eight-hour rule for employees – eight hours of work, eight hours of fun, eight hours of sleep.
Guest relations manager Dominic Gorham leads the Sommerro School and trains all employees, whilst head of culture Jens Bredberg will be responsible for curating the hotel’s cultural program.
Executive chef Jonathan Howell manages the daily operations of Sommerro’s F&B offerings and will oversee the restaurant’s sustainability efforts. This includes a focus on local and organic produce while reducing waste.

These visionary leaders embody the hotel’s values that foster a beautifully inclusive, collaborative, and enjoyable home for both employees and visitors alike.
