USA: Pendry Hotels & Resorts has announced the appointment of David Hoffman as general manager of Pendry Newport Beach, scheduled to open in summer 2023.
Hoffman will oversee all daily operations of the hotel in Newport Beach, California. He has 30 years of luxury hospitality experience, including 20 years at Montage International – a management company which oversees the Pendry and Montage hotel brands.
Most recently, Hoffman served as the opening general manager of Pendry West Hollywood. Prior to this, Hoffman was the opening general manager at Sagamore Pendry Baltimore. He has also opened several Montage properties including Montage Kapalua Bay, Montage Beverly Hills, and Montage Laguna Beach.

Pendry Newport Beach is situated close to Fashion Island, one of Orange County’s shopping destinations. The hotel will have 295 guest rooms including 82 suites, three signature dining destinations, a Spa Pendry, an outdoor pool with sundeck, a fitness centre, and more than 14,000 square feet of meeting and event space.
The property will also be home to a private membership club.
