Norway: Luxury hotel Sommerro has appointed André Julseth as its general manager, effective 1 July 2023.
For the past three years Julseth served as general manager of The Well Spa & Hotel, located on the outskirts of Oslo. He played a key role in the launch of the hotel in 2021.
Between 2015 and 2020, Julseth worked with Sommerro’s parent company Strawberry at a sister hotel THE THIEF. Here he held a variety of roles including sales, front desk and conference manager, and hotel manager.
In his new role as general manager of Sommerro, Julseth will now oversee a team of 300 staff. He replaces Jarle Moen, the hotel’s opening general manager.
Part of Nordic Hotels & Resorts, Sommerro opened in September 2022. It occupies the original building of the former headquarters of Oslo Lysverker, the city’s original electrical company.
The hotel features 231 rooms and suites, four restaurants, three bars, wellness space, several meeting and event rooms, and a rooftop terrace.
April 2023 saw the second stage of the hotel’s launch with the opening of Villa Inkognito. This private 11-suite retreat is located next door to Sommerro and is available to book in its entirety or on an individual room basis.
