UK: Sustainable luxury hotel 1 Hotel Mayfair, part of SH Hotels & Resorts, has named Francois-Xavier Schoeffer as general manager ahead of its summer launch.
Schoeffer brings over 25 years of experience in the luxury travel industry to his new role. Over the years, he has worked at notable hotels including Hôtel Lutetia in Paris, Hotel Café Royal in London, and the Conservatorium Hotel in Amsterdam.
As general manager of 1 Hotel Mayfair, Schoeffer will work alongside Robert Koren, appointed last month as SVP and area managing director of EMEA at SH Hotels & Resorts.
“I am honoured to have been appointed as the general manager of 1 Hotel Mayfair and to be part of the brand’s EU expansion,” said Schoeffer. “I look forward to growing our team at London’s first mission-driven sustainable luxury.”

1 Hotel Mayfair is set to open this summer on Berkeley Street near Green Park in London. The nine-storey hotel will offer 181 rooms and suites, the Dovetail restaurant by two Michelin-starred chef Tom Sellers, a coffee shop and bar, the Bamford Wellness Spa and a fitness centre.
