Spain: Victor Krensler has been named general manager of the upcoming La Fonda Heritage Hotel, which is due to open this winter in Marbella.
Krensler brings more than 20 years of experience to the role, beginning his career at Le Méridien, Los Monteros Hotel in Sweden.
Since then, he has created several restaurants, bars and nightclubs and has held positions as opening consultant and general manager for a variety of other restaurants, including Breathe and Hustle n’ Flow in Marbella.
La Fonda Heritage Hotel will become the first Relais & Châteaux hotel in Andalusia, Spain. The boutique hotel, located in Casco Antiguo, will feature 20 rooms housed across three 16th century buildings, an annex with a spa and four treatment rooms, a sky bar and lounge, espresso and cocktail bar, a fine dining Mediterranean restaurant, as well as a live music venue.
Once a private residence, the site later became a church and then a school. In 1967, designers Jaime Parlade and Duarte Pinto Coelho transformed it into a luxury hotel before it eventually turned into Michelin-star restaurant in the late 80s.
Relais & Châteaux is an association of 580 hotels and restaurants throughout the world which are owned and operated independently.
