Wild Thyme & Honey appoints general manager

Simon Stanbrook

UK: Wild Thyme & Honey, a boutique hotel located in the Cotswolds, has appointed Simon Stanbrook as general manager.

With over 24 years of hospitality experience in management and front of house roles with several boutique hotels and country inns across the country, Stanbrook is now responsible for the day-to-day running of Wild Thyme & Honey and its adjoining pub, The Crown at Ampney Brook.

He will supervise the front of house team and take project management duties, while working to drive recruitment and improve guest experience.

Speaking about his appointment, Stanbrook said: “I am thrilled to take over the role of general manager. I look forward to bringing my passion, knowledge and experience to this hotel to help build on its already excellent reputation and to working closely with my new team to continue to deliver memorable experiences for our guests.”

Stanbrook joins Wild Thyme & Honey from The Frogmill in Cheltenham, where he managed a team of 50 as general manager. Prior to joining The Frogmill, Stanbrook worked at The Swan Hotel in Bibury, The George Hotel in Cheltenham, and The Manor House hotel in Moreton-in-Marsh.

Drew Brown, managing director at Grosvenor Pubs and Inns, said: “We are absolutely delighted to welcome Simon Stanbrook to Wild Thyme & Honey. As the property approaches its first anniversary this December, Simon’s appointment comes at an exciting time for the hotel who are thrilled to have been included in the Top 50 Boutique Hotels list, alongside the likes of The Newt in Somerset and The Fife Arms.

“We are looking forward to seeing Simon’s talent, meticulous eye for detail and experience in action and believe he’ll be a great addition to our hard-working team.”

Wild Thyme and Honey is owned by Red Lion Holdings, a newly formed investment group that invests in independent boutique pubs and inns. The group is led by Jason Myers and David Ramsey, who also own and manage The Cricketeers on the Green and The Kings Arms in Surrey – both also part of Grosvenor Pubs and Inns.
