Hilton adds API to Amadeus GDS

Hilton adds API to Amadeus GDS

The Morrow Hotel, Curio Collection by Hilton, has recently opened in Washington DC

Worldwide: Amadeus has integrated Hilton’s API, allowing for advanced connection to the global distribution system (GDS) and the ability to view and edit content easily.

The API integration will enable travel agents and customers see key information such as cancellation policies, whilst allowing Hilton and Amadeus to access details such as credit card information and meal plans and preferences.

Previous connectivity through multiple APIs meant that changes to content could not be easily accommodated. Now, Hilton will be able to roll out new updates with the direct connection to Amadeus GDS.

Oral Muir, VP of partnership development and global distribution at Hilton, said: “At Hilton, we are always evolving to create a more frictionless travel experience and to meet and exceed the needs of our current and future customers. By partnering with Amadeus, we’re bringing a first-of-its kind technology solution to the hospitality industry and making important strides in our effort to employ the latest, award-winning innovations and standards to improve performance of our hotels and elevate service to our customers.”

Katja Bohnet, VP of hospitality distribution at Amadeus, added: “We’re proud to partner with Hilton on this new API integration with the Amadeus GDS. This is a major milestone for both our industry and Hilton, as the new API looks to overcome the historical challenges of limited reach and connectivity. We are adopting a “one API, any channel” approach to hotel distribution through the GDS, to ensure that the quality of content available for distributors is the most reliable and advanced it has ever been.”

Amadeus’ technology helps to connect travellers to travel agents, search engines, tour operators, airlines, airports, hotels, cars and railways.

The Hilton portfolio comprises 18 hotel brands comprising 7,000 properties and 1.1 million rooms across 122 countries and territories.
