Wyndham Hotels and Resorts is gearing up for further growth in Asia Pacific following a strong 2023 which saw 222 hotels signed and 158 new properties opened.

During a short visit to the region from March 4-7, 2024, Wyndham President and CEO, Geoff Ballotti, participated in 27 signing ceremonies for new hotels – including properties in Greater China, Thailand, Cambodia – while also meeting with more than 30 owners across the region.

The company’s full-year results for the region showed 7.4% Y-O-Y net room growth in 2023, equivalent to 14,200+ rooms. Wyndham currently has almost 1,800 opened hotels across Asia Pacific.

Wyndham Hotels and Resorts President, Asia Pacific, Joon Aun Ooi, said continued demand for bleisure travel is driving growth across the region.

“Bleisure tourism across the Asia Pacific region continued to recover nicely in 2023, creating unprecedented opportunities for Wyndham and our franchisees,” he said.

“As a result, demand for our 15 brands is as strong as it’s ever been, particularly among hotel owners, who increasingly are recognizing the value of partnering with the world’s largest hotel franchisor.

“From our award-winning loyalty program, Wyndham Rewards, to our unmatched ability to deliver best-in-class technology, marketing, and distribution—they see the power of the Wyndham Advantage.”

In 2023, Wyndham introduced nine brands into eight new markets across the region, including Wyndham Grand, Wyndham, Hawthorn by Wyndham, Tryp by Wyndham, Trademark Collection by Wyndham, Ramada Encore by Wyndham, and Howard Johnson by Wyndham.
