CoStar: U.S. Hotel Performance Declines, Expected From Halloween

WASHINGTON—U.S. hotel performance showed an expected decline from the previous week as well as mixed year-over-year comparisons, according to CoStar’s latest data through Nov. 9, 2023.

Occupancy: 59.7 percent (down 4.0 percent)
ADR: $152.90 (up 2.0 percent)
RevPAR: $91.23 (down 2.1 percent)

The decrease in occupancy was anticipated with Halloween falling on Tuesday.

Among the Top 25 Markets, St. Louis saw the largest year-over-year increases in each of the three key performance metrics: occupancy (up 6.4 percent to 59.2 percent), ADR (up 12.3 percent to $131.16), and RevPAR (up 19.5 percent to $77.64). The market’s performance was helped by Metallica’s M72 World Tour.

The steepest RevPAR declines were seen in Miami (down 22.5 percent to $131.88) and Tampa (down 19.6 percent to $87.29).
