PPDS Introduces New Evolution of ePaper Signage Range

AMSTERDAM—PPDS introduced the latest evolution of its ePaper signage range with the launch of the 32-inch Philips Tableaux 5150I for hotels and other hospitality environments.

Extending PPDS’ global strategy and commitment to bringing sustainable solutions to market, the new 32-inch Philips Tableaux 5150I signals a breakthrough in technology for larger form factor full-color ePaper displays.

PPDS opened a new era of display technology during ISE 2023, introducing a full-size and full-color digital signage display into the market, with the debut of its 25-inch Philips Tableaux. The 32-inch Philips Tableaux 5150I grows PPDS’ ePaper portfolio, whether used as a standalone solution—such as in a bar, café, or restaurant—or as part of a fleet of displays across multiple hotel locations.

Martijn van der Woude, vice preisdent global marketing and business development at PPDS, commented, “At ISE 2023 we changed the game for digital signage with the introduction of our zero power consumption 25-inch Philips Tableaux Series.”

Working with Philips Professional Displays R&D partner, E Ink, the 32-inch Philips Tableaux 5150I has more than the 25-inch model. As part of this working relationship, the 32-inch model runs on the E Ink Spectra 6 color platform, which delivers high color performance, using enhanced algorithms to provide a print quality replacement for any paper sign.

Andrea Barbuti, global product manager at PPDS, said, “When seeing the Philips Tableaux 5150I in action, it is almost impossible to comprehend that you’re looking at a digital display and not a poster. Portrait or landscape mountable, the 32-inch Philips Tableaux 5150I is a perfect replacement for any paper-based communication—from posters, menus, in-store advertising and promotions, wayfinding, and timetables through to store opening hours.”

The new model can be managed manually or remotely using third-party or PPDS’ in-house software, including the PPDS Wave. Like the previous model, 32-inch can display static imagery without drawing on any energy source, requiring super low power input when content is being updated. For fixed installations, and in environments where regular image changes are required, the Philips Tableaux 5150I has Power over Ethernet (PoE). With 16GB of internal memory and 2GB RAM, content can be updated via the USB, micro USB, Micro SD, LAN, and WiFi 5 by plugging the Philips Tableaux 5150I into a nearby power source.
